Peripera V Shading | Contour Stick for Natural Definition
Our V Shading stick creates soft, natural dimension with a single swipe. The creamy powder-hybrid formula glides onto skin without dragging or patchiness, blending seamlessly into bare skin or over foundation.
We designed V Shading for quick sculpting — cheekbones, jawline, temples, and nose bridges all achieve definition in seconds. The cool-toned shade mimics real shadow, while the lightweight texture sets to a soft matte finish that won't cake or crease throughout your day. You control the intensity with buildable layers that never look muddy or harsh.
What makes V Shading essential

Formula & Texture
The peripera v shading formula balances creaminess with powder-set control. When you twist up the stick, you’ll notice the product feels firm yet yielding — it transfers to skin easily but won’t melt in your hand or break off during application.
We use a silicone-gel base that creates slip without oil or heaviness. This means the stick glides across cheekbones and along your jawline without dragging delicate skin, and the color deposits evenly from the first pass. Within 30 seconds of blending, the formula sets to a soft powder finish that locks in place. The finish stays matte without looking flat or chalky, and it resists transfer onto phone screens or shirt collars throughout wear.

Shade & Undertone
We formulated V Shading with cool-gray undertones that mimic natural shadow rather than warmth or orange tones. This shade works universally across light to medium-deep skin tones because it doesn’t compete with your natural coloring — it simply adds depth where you place it.
The pigment level sits in a mid-range sweet spot. One pass creates soft definition for everyday looks, while two or three layers build intensity for evening makeup or photography. You won’t accidentally apply too much in a single swipe, which makes this stick forgiving for contour beginners. The color never pulls muddy or ashy even when layered, maintaining clarity at every intensity level.
Application & Blending
Placement
Apply V Shading directly from the stick onto hollows of cheeks, starting at the top of your ear and sweeping toward the corner of your mouth. Stop before you reach your smile line. For jawline definition, draw the stick along the underside of your jaw from ear to chin. To slim the nose, trace two parallel lines down each side of the bridge.
Blending Techniques
Blend immediately after application — within 30 seconds before the formula fully sets. Use your fingertips in gentle tapping motions to diffuse edges, or sweep a fluffy brush in small circles to soften lines. A damp makeup sponge works well for seamless blending if you prefer that tool. The same blending approach that works for our contour stick collection applies here: use light pressure and build gradually rather than pressing hard initially.

Common Questions About V Shading
V Shading performs well on normal, combination, and oily skin types. The formula sets to a soft matte finish that controls shine without emphasizing texture.
If you have very dry skin, we recommend applying moisturizer and allowing it to fully absorb before contouring. You can also mix a drop of facial oil with the product on the back of your hand before applying to add dewiness. The stick works on all skin types when you adjust your prep and setting routine to match your skin's needs.
Apply contour where natural shadows would fall on your face. The most common placement is the hollow under your cheekbones — feel for the indent between your cheekbone and jaw, then apply there.
For a slimmer jawline, trace the stick along the underside of your jaw from ear to chin. To define your nose, draw two thin lines down the sides of your nose bridge. You can also contour your temples by the hairline and under your chin if desired. Start with cheekbones only until you're comfortable with blending, then expand to other areas.
Yes, V Shading works beautifully on bare skin. The formula blends directly into skin without requiring a foundation base, making it perfect for natural makeup days.
Apply the stick to clean, moisturized skin and blend with your fingers or a brush. The contour will look soft and diffused rather than harsh. Many of our customers prefer using V Shading alone without foundation for a fresh, minimal makeup look that still adds dimension.
Twist up approximately 2 to 3 millimeters of product — about the height of a grain of rice. This amount provides enough surface area to glide smoothly without breaking off or wasting product.
If you twist up too much, the stick becomes more likely to break when you apply pressure. If you twist up too little, you'll need to press harder to deposit color, which can drag skin. The small amount gives you control while preventing waste. You can always twist up more if needed, but start conservatively.
Setting powder is optional depending on your skin type and activity level. The formula sets on its own to a soft matte finish within 30 seconds, which is sufficient for normal to dry skin during typical daily wear.
If you have oily skin or plan to wear makeup for more than 8 hours, setting with translucent powder extends longevity and prevents any potential transfer. Use a fluffy brush to dust powder lightly over the contoured areas after blending. Powder is also recommended in humid climates or during exercise.
Remove V Shading with your regular makeup remover or cleanser. Oil-based cleansers and micellar water both dissolve the formula effectively in one cleansing step.
If you use a water-based cleanser, you may want to double cleanse to ensure complete removal. Apply your cleanser, massage gently over the contoured areas, and rinse thoroughly. The product doesn't require special removers or harsh scrubbing — it comes off easily with standard cleansing methods.
Yes, V Shading layers beautifully with other cream products. Apply and blend your contour first, allow it to set for 30 seconds, then apply cream blush to the apples of your cheeks and highlighter to high points.
The set formula won't lift or blend into subsequently applied products as long as you use a light hand with your blush and highlighter. Tap or stipple cream products on top rather than swiping or dragging to maintain clean placement. You can also use powder blush and highlighter over V Shading with no issues.
